Lead Front End Engineer

Role Summary
We are seeking a skilled Front-End Engineer with experience in React and a strong understanding of front-end development best practices. You will play a critical role in designing and implementing features, ensuring a seamless and engaging user experience. As part of a small team, you’ll have the opportunity to take ownership of projects, work on greenfield initiatives, and contribute to the overall success of our platform. Your work will directly impact worship leaders and musicians, helping them grow in their craft and faith.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and maintenance of scalable, high-performance front-end applications using React.
  • Architect, implement, and optimize front-end solutions to ensure speed, scalability, and maintainability.
  • Take ownership of the development, deployment, and monitoring of front-end applications.
  • Mentor and guide junior and mid-level engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
  • Collaborate with designers, product managers, and back-end engineers to create intuitive user experiences.
  • Establish and enforce coding standards, best practices, and testing strategies.
  • Contribute to greenfield projects, building features from the ground up and influencing architectural decisions.
  • Align development efforts with Worship Initiative’s mission and values, ensuring a user experience that serves worship leaders and musicians effectively.


Key Expectations

  • 5+ years of experience in front-end development with a focus on React.
  • Strong proficiency in JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML, and CSS.
  • Experience with Remix and Turborepo for efficient front-end development and monorepo management.
  • Proven experience leading small engineering teams or mentoring junior developers.
  • Experience with modern front-end tools such as Vite, Babel, and ESLint.
  • Familiarity with state management libraries like Redux, Zustand, or Recoil.
  • Strong understanding of component-based architecture and best practices in building scalable applications.
  • Hands-on experience with the full lifecycle of front-end applications, from development to deployment and monitoring.
  • Experience working in greenfield projects or the ability to build features from scratch.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced startup environment with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a strong sense of ownership.
  • This role is based in our Dallas, TX office. Reasonable accommodations may be considered as needed.


Nice To Have

  • Experience with React Native or Flutter app development and deployment.
  • Experience with Tailwind CSS or other modern front-end frameworks.
  • Familiarity with back-end technologies and APIs (GraphQL or REST).
  • Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS.
  • Interest in UI/UX design principles.
  • Experience building tools for musicians, worship teams, or educational platforms.
  • Passion for creating impactful digital experiences that support leaders and musicians.
