Remote Graphic Designer (Strategy Division)

The Position
Church Media Squad is looking for a Full-Time Graphic Designer (Strategy Division) to join our growing Squad. At Church Media Squad, we exist to make church media better by helping local church ministries with graphic and video production, communication and social strategy, website development, and full-scale branding.
Our new Graphic Designer (Strategy Division) will help aid in the weekly graphic design needs of the Church Media Squad clients across the branding, web, and social media departments. The Graphic Designer position is a full-time, hourly role.
All Church Media Squad employees work completely remotely. Full-time employees receive a company MacBook Pro after their first six weeks. Church Media Squad is an Apple-only environment.
About Church Media Squad:
Church Media Squad is based out of Salt Lake City, UT. The state of Utah has the lowest percentage of Christians in the country, with the Salt Lake Valley having less than 5% who consider themselves part of the Christian faith. Our Founder’s goal and hope is to be part of God's transformative movement in the Salt Lake Valley by making our base of operations here and helping church plants in Salt Lake Valley.

Qualifications:
- Required proficiency with:
- Photoshop - Expert
- Illustrator - Intermediate to Expert
- InDesign - Intermediate to Expert
- Must submit a portfolio link with the application. Only portfolios containing the following project types will be considered:
- Logos
- Branded Suite (banners, business cards, etc.)
- Social Media Posts, Carousels, Campaigns
- Merch
- Familiarity with these tools is a plus but not a requirement:
- Slack
- ClickUp
- Dropbox
- Corebook
- Squarespace
- Preference is given to applicants based in the United States or other North American countries. However, Church Media Squad employees are located worldwide, so any application is welcome.
- We are particularly interested in applicants with experience working for a church. This firsthand experience enables us to serve better the church staff we collaborate with daily.
Responsibilities:
- Branding Squad (~15-25h per week):
- Building Stylescapes (curated design boards based on a client Creative Brief).
- Building out high-quality brand deliverables including print-ready files, digital and social graphics, and flawless mockups that provide a visual representation of the member’s brand.
- Logo development as needed. Sketch, vectorize, and build out unique, bold, and responsive logos.
- Social Media Squad: (~10-15h per week)
- Create social media graphics, including quote graphics and carousels for sermon content.
- Build out specific social media graphics for plans from existing main designs
- Web Squad: (~5h per week)
- Create graphics including but not limited to case study mockups, member-facing PDFs & resources, website social sharing images, and site-launch celebration social packs.
- Photo Optimization & Organization
- Work closely with the Branding, Web, and Social Media Squads to understand project needs and deliver on design requests.
- Participate in regular check-ins with all three departments to stay updated on project progress and priorities.
- Provide insights on clients who have subscribed to all products to ensure cohesive and integrated design solutions.
- Prioritize and manage multiple design projects, ensuring timely delivery and high quality.
- The official working time for all member-facing Squad Members is +/- 2 hours of 9AM - 5 PM Central Standard Time (CST).
- Communicate with design clients via ClickUp with a high level of customer support and care. Send a meme or gif showing how you feel about working in customer service to ashley@churchmediasquad.com.
- Regularly be in contact with the Squad via our company Slack
- Bi-weekly 1:1s with your VP of Strategy Division (direct manager)
Other Details:
- Reports to a VP of Strategy Division (direct manager).
- High-speed internet is required for this position.
- This is a full-time, W2 employee position with a starting pay range of $21.63 - $26.44 per hour. Pay is dependent on location and experience.
- Church Media Squad has an annual pay raise consideration period every January after your first full year of employment.
