BibleProject is hiring a
Remote Lead Engineer

As the Lead Engineer for our Classroom platform, you will be responsible for writing high-quality, meticulously tested web code, and leading other engineers to do the same. Operating within a modern web ecosystem, you’ll work in the codebase, contributing your expertise and creativity to enhance user experiences. You will work under the guidance of a Principal Engineer and receive mentorship to sharpen your skills and expand your understanding.

Your role extends beyond the codebase; you'll actively engage with Design and Product teams to brainstorm, define, and implement innovative features and improvements. You’ll collaborate with QA engineers to swiftly identify and resolve issues. We value a culture of teamwork. You’ll collaborate with and lead fellow engineers, fostering collective problem-solving and continuous growth. Additionally, you'll share in the responsibility of on-call duties, maintaining system stability and addressing emergencies promptly. 

Most importantly, you’ll be a part of building the software engineering culture of BibleProject, working to create an environment where great technical professionals like yourself can ship work worthy of our mission at a sustainable pace that reflects the BibleProject values: creative, humble, thoughtful, unifying, generous, and unhurried.

BibleProject is a nonprofit, crowdfunded organization that produces 100% free Bible videos, podcasts, blogs, classes, and educational Bible resources. Our mission is to help people experience the Bible as a unified story that leads to Jesus.

We have grown significantly in the area of multimedia technology. What began with two animated videos now encompasses multiple platforms and products—including over 160 videos. Our website and app serve as connection hubs to our ever-growing library of resources. Classroom, our online learning platform, offers accessible, graduate-level Bible classes. 

These, and all of our supporting products, continue to be completely free to audiences around the world, thanks to the ongoing generosity of our patrons.

Location: This role can be done from anywhere in the United States. Occasional travel to Portland, OR may be required.
