Practicing the Way is hiring a
Remote UX/UI Designer

📍 Remote

Do you believe that thoughtful design can create spaces where people encounter Jesus and deepen their faith? Are you driven by a calling to craft experiences that nurture spiritual practices and build a sense of community? We are searching for a strategic and innovative digital designer who shares our vision for spiritual formation within the Church and is eager to lead projects that guide people and unite communities in their journey with Jesus.

About Practicing the Way

Practicing the Way creates beautiful resources and experiences for spiritual formation, helping churches train people to practice the Way of Jesus.

About the Role

Our Vision for this Role
The UX/UI Designer plays a pivotal role as a steward of our mission, leading the design of our core digital touchpoints, including our digital platform, website, messaging, and online tools. This role centers on loving our audience through thoughtfully crafted digital interactions that are intuitive, smooth, elegant, peaceful, and, most importantly, effective in drawing people closer to Jesus.

As the architect and creator of new digital experiences and features, the UX/UI Designer continually refines existing touchpoints based on audience feedback, always aiming to serve our users better. A user-centric approach is essential, but it’s grounded in something deeper—a desire to lead people along a spiritual journey. This involves integrating analytics, research, and user feedback into the design process to create tools that not only work well but also inspire and encourage spiritual growth.

This role is a good fit for a fast-working, driven, self-managed designer whom God has given a balance of right-brain and left-brain thinking—able to problem-solve and craft strategic digital products while also holding the design skills to create beautiful and engaging visual designs. The ideal candidate has extensive experience working specifically in web and/or digital product design and knows how to design to technical requirements and harness data and research to make informed design decisions.

The UX/UI Designer will also take a leadership role in driving project success, crafting strategic approaches, and guiding projects from conception to completion through a UX lens. This includes setting clear goals, project planning, and ensuring that every project reflects our mission and vision.

The UX/UI Designer collaborates closely with:
  • the Director of Digital Experience to define projects and priorities,
