Remote Website Designer

The Position
Church Media Squad is looking for a Full-Time Website Designer to join our growing Squad.  At Church Media Squad, we exist to make church media better by helping local church ministries with graphic and video production, communication and social strategy, website strategy, and full-scale branding.  

Our new Website Designer will help aid in the creation of web designs that resonate with our member's brand voice, needs, and the demands of their users, in line with the latest trends and best practices in website design. The Website Designer position is a full-time, salaried position, with a work expectation of up to 40 hours/week.  

All Church Media Squad employees work completely remotely. Full-time employees receive a company MacBook Pro after their first six weeks. Church Media Squad is an Apple-only environment.

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Web Design, Graphic Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field, or a strong portfolio showcasing website creation and a range of designs.

Required Proficiency with:
  • UI/Visual Design
  • HTML & CSS
  • Figma
  • WordPress or Webflow
  • Squarespace 7.1
  • Photoshop  

Preference will be given to applicants with additional proficiency in:
  • SEO
  • Bricks Builder (for WordPress)
  • Javascript  

Familiarity with these tools is a plus but not a requirement: Slack, ClickUp, & Dropbox  

Must submit a portfolio link showcasing website case studies with the application.  

We are particularly interested in applicants with experience working for a church. This firsthand experience enables us to better serve the church staff we collaborate with daily.  

Responsibilities:
  • Work assigned workload based on projects from the Website Department Lead.  
  • Work expectation of up to 40 hours/week.  
  • The official working time for all member-facing Squad Members is +/- 2 hours of Central Standard Time (CST).  
  • Collaborate within the Web Squad and other departments to ensure we create meaningful websites that benefit churches throughout their journey with us.  
  • Design, develop, and support responsive, SEO-optimized websites for our Squad Churches (our clients) and internal company websites.  
  • Communicate with Squad Churches (our clients) via video recordings and ClickUp channels with a high level of customer support and care. Send a meme or gif showing how you feel about working on church websites to ashley@churchmediasquad.com.  
  • Create wireframes, style tiles, and other deliverables used for visualizing design concepts.
  • Adjust and refine designs based on feedback.  
  • Respond to support request tickets for website updates and maintenance.  
  • Stay updated with the latest web design trends and tools, ensuring their incorporation when suitable.  
  • Identify and champion the most efficient workflows possible for our growing department.  
  • Regularly be in contact with TheSquad via our company Slack.  
  • Bi-weekly Meetings with your Squad Lead (team manager).

Other Details:
  • Reports to Website Director (department lead).  
  • TheSquad will purchase a computer for you upon your start date.  
  • Higher internet speeds are helpful for this position!  
  • This is a W2 Employee position with a starting pay range of $50-65k/year. Salary is dependent on location and experience.  
  • United States employees also receive full coverage of healthcare premium cost.
