Remote Sr Frontend Developer (React)

📍 Remote

As a Senior Front-end Developer, you will be responsible for supporting the work to transform Compassion's front-end web applications to a new CMS solution. The senior developer will support the team by mentoring and training where applicable. They will work with internal customers throughout the ministry to solve problems that will meet the organization’s digital experience needs, both in the current technical stack and our future state as well.

What will you do?
  • Maintains a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Is a consistent witness for Jesus Christ, maintains a courteous, Christ-like attitude in dealing with people within and outside of Compassion, and faithfully upholds Compassion’s ministry in prayer. 
  • Acts as an advocate to raise the awareness of the needs of children. Understands Christ’s mandate to protect children. Commits to and prioritizes child protection considerations in all decision-making, tasks and activities across the ministry. Abides by all behavioral expectations in Compassion’s Statement of Commitment to Child Protection and Code of Conduct. Reports any concerns of abuse, neglect or exploitation of children through Compassion’s internal reporting process and appropriately supports responses to incidents if they occur. 
  • Supports our roadmap of solutions for our new front-end experience enterprise web applications in support of Compassion.com as well as for other ancillary sponsor experiences.  
  • Builds durable, compelling, and cutting-edge funnel conversion experiences that align with our larger marketing vision. 
  • You will be capable of communicating complex ideas in such a way that anticipates objections in order to garner widespread support from different points of view.
  • Will support the team by crafting front-end experiences with our new headless CMS solution. 
  • Is able to speak with both technical and non-technical audiences alike in order to align on a unifying end goal. 
  • Provides guidance, mentoring and training as necessary.  
  • You will estimate features and stories. You will identify risk and their inherent trade offs. You will evaluate estimates in retro and refine your estimates going forward.
  • Develop User interfaces for Modern Rich Internet Applications with the latest Front-End Technologies.
  • You will be uniquely positioned to solve unique problems that impact a wide swath of the business that will require innovative thinking to successfully accomplish.
  • Writes well-tested and documented React, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS. 
  • Is experienced with Figma to dev to production work pipelines that simplify reuse and atomization of components. 
  • Develops integrated solutions with our content middle-tier and transactional APIs.  
  • Supports legacy capabilities like, Razor Templates as we migrate to our new React based front-end stack. 
  • Is conversant in LAMP stack front end solutions.
  • You will mitigate conflicts caused by change as you prioritize the business objectives in order to influence new processes towards successful adoption of change.
  • Experienced split testing in order to drive to informed decisions. 
  • Creates solutions that simplifies existing workflows and technologies in order to streamline user experiences and capabilities alike. 
  • You will guide the strategy development for front end Marketing projects that contain notable risk and complexity.
  • As you consider new technologies, you will partner with the business and IT in order to determine the best solution possible.

What do you bring?
  • 8+ years of experience with Reactjs or other JavaScript frameworks. 
  • You will be an expert in your area of the organization as well as have a broad knowledge of other disciplines.
  • You will influence industry and Marketing best practices to create product solutions that solve business needs effectively.
  • Experience transitioning an enterprise to a headless environment. 
  • Strong expertise with HTML, CSS, and writing cross-browser compatible code. 
  • Well versed with utilizing and integrating a utility-first design systems. 
  • Experience with Google Tag Manager, GA4 and solutions like Tealium. 
  • Good understanding of AJAX and JavaScript Dom manipulation Techniques. 
  • Well proven Source Control best practices within systems like Github, Bitbucket, etc. for branching and deployment capabilities. 
  • Experienced with consuming design requirements for the implementation of new user experiences and solutions.  
  • Proven experience with UI Component management solutions like Storybook, Knapsack, or the like. 
  • You will embrace system simplicity with the mind for enhanced maintainability. You will agilely deploy small units of work that release value regularly for our neighbours. And you will participate in pair programming as it might assist members of the team.
  • Extensive experience with RESTful API, Composite API, and an understanding of GraphQL use in the enterprise. 
  • Experience with jQuery, Underscore Utility Libraries, or other relevant technical capabilities in this space. 
  • Creates self-contained, reusable, and testable modules and components 
  • Must have experience with content management solutions. 
  • Nice to have experience with Tridion Content Management system. 
  • Experience writing test scripts for Quality Control and validation. 
  • Critical thinker and problem-solving skills.

The expected salary range for this position is $99,800.00 - $124,750.00. Employees in specific high cost of labor locations in the United States (such as San Francisco, CA and Seattle, WA) may qualify for a geographic differential.
