This is a fully remote US employment opportunity. 
Estimated Salary Range for this Position: $75,000 - $88,000 Dependent on Experience

Summary
The Director of Sales works to advance the ministry of Awana by providing leadership and ownership for effective ministry expansion through selling and promoting Awana products, services, and resources. This individual is specifically responsible for understanding industry trends, building effective sales and marketing strategy and plans, while guiding execution and accountability for accomplishing organizational goals. This individual will lead an internal marketing team, while working cross-functionally with various stakeholders across the organization.

This position is primarily remote with the need to report into the St. Charles, IL and/or Nashville, TN offices or other worksites as needed.

Responsibilities
  • Build, mentor and lead the Marketing team, aligning with the Awana Strategic Execution Plan (SEP) and cultural values
  • Ensure the team's processes and work meet team standards of operational and cultural excellence, and enables the Awana executive leaders to focus on driving strong ministry outcomes
  • Stewards the Marketing budget, allocating appropriate expenses for effective ministry in line with desired goals and objectives
  • Own and hit/exceed annual sales targets in conjunction with Awana’s strategic plan
  • Build and execute strategies for sales growth through membership, curriculum, and events, both new and renewal business, focused on achieving engagement/sales targets and expanding our customer base
  • Collaborate with field staff to generate leads, follow up accordingly, drive sales growth and maintain revenue projections
  • Oversee campaigns to generate leads across all verticals from both known and new constituents, including paid and cross-promoted placements with related organizations, outlets, internal, and external channels
  • Guide plans to partner with customers to understand their business needs and objectives, apply engagement plans based on opportunities and needs
  • Understand and represent category-specific best practices to help shape product and service opportunities
  • Develop accurate performance and ROI plans, and adjusting spending plans based on needs and accountability
  • Analyze plan results and adjust marketing plans as necessary to meet ministry sales targets and projected ministry needs.
  • Oversee efforts with internal and external resources to measure, evaluate and improve campaigns and tactics
  • Create and maintain sales reports that track and measure the success of initiatives. Research new channels or platforms to be considered and work with leadership to utilize them most effectively
  • Support, uphold and demonstrate the Awana cultural values in internal and external communications and relationships.
  • Perform other related duties as required

Qualifications
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience and success in marketing, ideally in the Christian marketplace.
  • Professional level people management and cross-functional team leadership experience
  • Bachelor's degree desired with a concentration in Marketing/Digital Marketing, Communication, Business or similar from an accredited college or university. Master’s degree a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically, plan and execute marketing programs that achieve measurable results.
  • Proficient in CRM (preferably Salesforce), SEO, Google Analytics, Google Adwords, marketing automation, and data visualization tools.
  • Knowledge of Hubspot, Higher Logic, Canva and other marketing software a plus.
  • Experience with A/B and multivariate experiments for various plans and campaigns.
  • Exceptional communication and written skills with ability to craft messaging and marketing language for various campaigns.
  • Understanding of current and online marketing techniques, best practices of marketing, sales, fundraising, and non-profit organizations desired.
  • General understanding of the Bible and the Christian church in its various expressions is preferred.
  • Working knowledge of children’s inspirational or ministry space including demonstrated program/product familiarity preferred.
  • Familiarity with the US Church landscape and/or global nonprofits preferred.

Spiritual Life
Must be a born-again Christian. Must have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. Must be in agreement with the Awana Doctrinal Statement. Must be in fellowship with the body of Christ through a local church. Regularly engages in reading the Holy Bible as a guide and standard for living.

Physical Demands/Working Conditions
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate. The employee is also required to regularly utilize computer equipment (e.g., screens and keyboards) to perform work. The employee is occasionally required to move about the work environment. Specific vision abilities required by this job included close vision and the ability to see color and distinguish letters, numbers and symbols. Occasional local and out-of-town, overnight travel may be required.
