Summary
To serve the members of Samaritan Ministries International (SMI) by supporting software delivery through designing, implementing, and optimization of development tooling, deployment systems, application environments, and system health.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage team of developers and system engineers with purpose of building, maintaining, and facilitating use of Software Development’s infrastructure and resources both on premise and in the cloud (AWS Experience Preferred)
  • As part of Software Development leadership, maintains department standards for hiring, code, development practices, and professionalism
  • Works with IT Ops to maintain health of systems within the development, test, staging, and production realms
  • Responsible for providing third level support for outages and emergencies and facilitates communication with other technical departments and the ministry for outage resolution
  • Researches best tools and best practices and implements for Equips Software Development team, standardizing toolsets, and developer environments across the organization
  • Facilitates best practices for development, testing, staging and production environments that enable automated software delivery where appropriate
  • Facilitates creation and support of testing environments and testing capabilities throughout the testing pyramid
  • Creates process automation in support of the software delivery objectives
  • Encourages efficient collaboration between Software Development and other technical SMI teams
  • Continually improves knowledge, understanding, and skills through research, study, and training
  • Implement and support best practices for development and delivery of sofware in the organization
 
Qualifications and Experience
  • Four-year degree from an accredited university or the equivalent combination of education and experience. (Bachelor's degree)
  • 5+ years of experience as a software developer or DevOps engineer
  • 2+ years of experience managing technical staff
  • Staff are required to possess applicable knowledge to bring value to SMI in this role, know and utilize resources well, ask questions to ensure full understanding, gain and retain knowledge to keep up with changes, and accept and engage with training to grow knowledge for current and future responsibilities.
  • Must be able to present complex information in an understandable manner.
  • Must have high degree of knowledge in skill in the following technical areas: Continuous Integration (CI),Continuous Delivery Practices,Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC),Open Web Application Security Project (OWASP), Databases, Networking, Server Infrastructure, Identity and Access Management (IdAM), Agile Methodology, AWS Cloud, VM Hosting in cloud and on premise , Client/Server, C Sharp, Python, Microsoft Windows Server,
 
Additional Information
  • May need to lift and move items up to 35 lbs on occasion
  • Staff may be required to travel and have a valid driver's license
  • Staff will observe safety principles while performing the duties of the position
  • Tasks are normally conducted in a regular office environment, requiring use of computer and mouse and other standard office equipment. Staff usually remain in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods.

Pay Range: $99,000-$126,700 *Starting pay is based off of qualifications and experience
