Remote Software Engineer III

👤 Role Type: Full-time

PURPOSE AND SUMMARY:
The Software Engineer III focuses on frontend development and spearheads the creation and implementation of user interface components using React for web applications, React Native for mobile apps, and associated technologies for desktop applications. The role requires a robust understanding of front-end technologies, proficiency in React, React Native, and associated technologies, and a strong drive to produce scalable, top-tier solutions. This role also requires collaboration with cross-functional teams that will ensure the delivery of seamless, user-centric experiences.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 4-6 years of software development experience in roles of increasing responsibility and/or complexity.
  • Experience with, or understanding of, a tech startup culture.
  • Strong technical background in full-stack development, with expertise in
  • React, React Native, and mobile development.
  • In-depth knowledge of AWS cloud services (Lambda, EventBridge, API Gateway, S3) and serverless architecture principles.
  • Deep understanding of and experience with UI/UX design principles and collaboration with design teams.
  • Experience with Lumigo or similar tools for serverless observability.
  • Agile/Scrum/Kanban methodology experience.
  • Proficiency in using GitHub for version control and team collaboration:
  • Proficiency with additional front-end frameworks/libraries like Vue.js, Angular, Meteor.
  • Proficiency with Python, Node.js, and AWS: Proficiency with CI/CD pipelines and build tools, such as Github actions.
  • Proficiency with performance optimization techniques for web, mobile, and desktop applications.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions in a fastpaced environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with both technical and not-technical stakeholders.
  • Understands church activities and outreach endeavors to the local community
  • Understands Judeo-Christian values within the church community
  • Has an awareness of, or affiliation with, local church involvement

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS:
  • Reports directly to the Software Development Manager
  • Has no supervisory responsibilities

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Develops and maintains user-facing features utilizing React for web, React Native for mobile, and associated technologies.
  • Utilizes JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3 to craft responsive and intuitive user interfaces.
  • Implements state management for complex application states.
  • Integrates with RESTful APIs, GraphQL, Firebase/Firestore, MongoDB,
  • PostgreSQL, and other databases for efficient data retrieval and manipulation.
  • Collaborates closely with design teams to facilitate the successful translation of UI/UX designs into functional interfaces.
  • Optimizes application components for maximum performance across diverse devices and platforms.
  • Writes clean, efficient, and maintainable code while adhering to coding standards and best practices.
  • Conducts comprehensive testing and debugging to maintain high-quality, bug-free code.
  • Works with version control systems like Git for collaborative development.
  • Targets public clouds such as Amazon Web Services as for end state production deployments.
  • Attends meetings as requested.
