Senior Optimizely Developer - Hybrid

📍 Grand Rapids, MI

Position Summary:
The Senior Optimizely Developer is responsible for building and implementing web applications and digital platforms aimed at delivering engaging user experiences to ODBM audiences. Responsible for analyzing business requirements, devising scalable and sustainable solutions, and ensuring the seamless integration of various systems with Optimizely DXP.  Works closely with global and cross-functional teams to enhance the ministry’s operational efficiency and effectiveness.
 
Essential Functions:
  1. Build feature sets for existing applications, enhancing application integrations, and upgrading the portfolio of business applications.
  2. Lead the architectural design and technical strategy for Optimizely integration projects, ensuring alignment with best practices and industry standards.
  3. Conduct comprehensive analysis of existing software implementations and recommend improvements and optimizations.
  4. Oversee the integration of Optimizely with other internal and third-party applications and systems to ensure seamless data flow and process automation.
  5. Utilize continuous integration practices for deploying code.
  6. Work with primary technology stack of C#, SQL Server, Visual Studio, Azure, and GitHub.
  7. Collaborate closely with IT and Business groups.  Display a service mindset coupled with excellent communication.
  8. Guide and mentor development teams in implementing software solutions according to architectural guidelines and coding standards.
  9. Stay updated with the latest Optimizely features and capabilities, providing insights into how they can be leveraged to benefit the organization.
  10. Collaborate with the data management teams to ensure data integrity, security, and compliance with applicable regulations.
  11. Manage the overall health and performance of integrated Optimizely applications, troubleshooting and resolving issues as they arise.
  12. Provide technical leadership in evaluating, selecting, and implementing add-ons or complementary technologies that enhance our capabilities.
  13. Participate in the development of a long-term Optimizely roadmap, aligned with the organizations’ strategic objectives.
 
Study or Knowledge or Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or equivalent experience.
  • Five plus years of experience with C#.
  • Three plus years of experience with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React JavaScript, Next.js.
  • Experience using and/or creating REST web services.
  • Understanding of Git fundamentals (commits, pull requests, branches, etc.).
  • Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
  • Experience implementing best practice CI/CD principles.
  • Experience with Entity Framework Core.
  • Experience working in a PCI environment.
  • Experience with Optimizely Hybrid Headless DXP and experience with Azure.
  • Proficiency in Optimizely with various APIs, web services, and enterprise systems.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex business processes and design scalable solutions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of Agile methodologies and project management practices.
  • Strive to live a life consistent with biblical principles, engaged with the Bible on a consistent basis and demonstrate continued growth and spiritual development. 
 
Internal Work Environment:
Develop, maintain, and improve communication channels among various teams and departments to ensure effective flow of information throughout the organization.  Handle sensitive situations or controversial issues with tact, discretion, and sensitivity.  Exhibit excellent judgment regarding the appropriate content and timing of communications.  Break down complex concepts into easily understandable formats for various audiences across the organization.  Create and deliver demonstration software for meetings and other high-level gatherings.
 
External Communication:
Establish and maintain communication with vendors, partners, and other external stakeholders.  Understand their needs, expectations, and requirements to foster positive and productive relationships and model biblical principles.
 
Leadership Responsibility:
Provide technical and thought leadership and expert guidance on software development and Salesforce data and integration patterns to solve complex business problems.  Share knowledge and provide mentorship to junior developers and other team members, helping to uplift the overall Salesforce capability of the organization. 
 
Stewardship of Resources:
Contribute to the budget planning process for Salesforce initiatives, providing expert input on anticipated resources required for software, data, storge, as well as necessary tools and technologies.  Offer insightful feedback to ensure cost-effectiveness and alignment with project goals.
