Sandals Church is hiring a
Software Developer l

📍 Riverside, CA

We are looking for an innovator who can create, design and develop tools and applications that help us connect with people, move them towards a real and awesome life, and enable our ministries/teams/staff/volunteers to do their best work. You will harness the power of the code-slinger to change the way Sandals Church does ministry and help others do the same.

More than anything, we’re looking for someone who’s a good fit for our small team. If you’re a developer with a passion for code, learning, and ministry then we might have a place for you!

 WE’RE LOOKING FOR SOMEONE WHO:
  • Is engaged in the developer community.
  • Stays up-to-date with the latest tech (but knows when to go tried-and-true).
  • Loves solving challenging problems with technology.
  • Drives towards simplicity.
  • Understands UI/UX and strives for the best user experiences.
  • Wants to create amazing experiences that positively impact people’s daily lives.
  • Has good communication skills – a team player who can also fly solo.
  • Has the ability to thrive in an environment that changes often.

YOU’RE OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE IF YOU:
  • Have proficiency in at least one of React, JS, PHP, Kotlin for Android, or similar.
  • Have experience building systems in any language AND love learning.
  • Have worked on mobile apps on iOS or Android.
  • Can work effectively in a bash terminal for server environments
  • Eat, sleep and breathe JSON data sources.
  • Have knowledge of relational databases.
  • Want to make a real difference with meaningful work.
  • Answered yes to any of the above

BTW, HERE’S WHAT WE’RE WORKING ON:
  • Unified application backend in PHP with MySQL, on Docker and K8s.
  • Wordpress theme and plugin development.
  • Webapps in React, Next.js and Tailwind
  • Native iOS and Android apps in Swift and Kotlin respectively.
  • Roku app in Brightscript.
  • Integration with Stripe, Twilio, Church Community Builder, etc.

COMPENSATION INFORMATION:
  • Pay Range: $20-$30 per hour
  • We will provide a pay rate that is within our compensation structure and that fits a candidate’s qualifications and experience for the job. A wage range posted is not a guarantee of a specific wage for a job offer.
