Creative Director

Then consider joining Church of the City New York as our Creative Director.

Role Summary
As the Creative Director, you will oversee the creative process to capture Church of the City's sermon series, outward-facing communications, videos, and storytelling. This role works hand-in-hand alongside a talented Production Director, Communications Director, and Worship Pastor. This role also focuses on building a vibrant and flourishing artist community to create an inviting and evangelistic space for non-believers.

Key Areas of Responsibility:
  • Produce, Film, and Edit where God is moving in our midst in creative ways that enhance and equip our congregation to become and make missional disciples.
  • Build a team of volunteers through training, mentoring, and vision casting
  • Oversee the capturing of testimonies and stories other than at Gatherings
  • Develop a framework to seek and find compelling stories
  • Hold the creative process for the sermon series from genesis to execution working in conjunction with Production Director and Worship Director
  • Integrate our resident artists community into the sermon series and holiday creative process
  • Oversee and build out a pipeline to create the design for various services, events and branding
  • Oversee and manage an approved budget for production services and projects
  • General HR, finance, and administrative functions to carry out responsibilities and lead teams

Requirements
A Christian in submission to the authority of the Scriptures and the Holy Spirit, as evident in lifestyle. Subscribe to and fully agree with the Church of the City New York Statement of Faith.

Required Competencies/Skills
  • Ability to cast vision and manage teams and projects to execution
  • Proven project management and multi-tasking skills and ability to work independently, proactively, collaboratively
  • Experience with analytics tools for social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, Twitter, Google Analytics, etc.) preferred.
  • Experience operating live audio and video recording equipment
  • In depth knowledge of of brand development and ability to oversee and maintain a cohesive visual identity
  • Familiar with: Adobe Premiere, Adobe After Effects, Photoshop, Lightroom, Final Cut Pro or another applicable professional editing software.
  • Must have general computer skills including working knowledge of Microsoft Office, G-Suite and iMac.

This role requires a flexible schedule, and the ability to work in a changing, fast-paced environment. You should be prepared to adapt and direct as needed.

Experience/Education:
  • A satisfactory equivalent of education, training, and experience in related fields and/or educational disciplines, sufficient to qualify for the requirements of the position, including:
    • 6+ years of relevant experience in a related field (Creative, Art, Media, Film, Design)
    • Preferred Bachelor’s degree in art, graphic design, marketing, communications, journalism, or related field
    • Brilliant interpersonal skills and communication skills

Benefits
The salary is $95,000 - $110,000 per year, and includes the following benefits:
