Quality and Change Assurance Manager

Overview
The Quality and Change Assurance Manager is a multifaceted role responsible for overseeing quality assurance processes and change management practices within the IT department. This position plays a critical role in ensuring the reliability, stability, and security of IT systems and applications through rigorous testing, evaluation, and controlled change implementation.

Responsibilities
- Promote the mission and standards of Answers in Genesis.
- Create a SERVE culture environment in all work done.

Quality Assurance Management
- Develop and implement QA strategies, policies, and procedures to ensure the quality and reliability of IT systems, applications, and services.
- Establish QA standards, methodologies, and best practices to guide testing activities across the software development lifecycle (SDLC).
- Define test plans, test cases, and test scripts for functional, regression, performance, and security testing.
- Manage the activities of performance, stress and regression testing, as well as bench testing for hardware implementations.
Testing and Evaluation
- Coordinate and oversee testing efforts, including manual and automated testing activities, to validate system functionality, performance, and security.
- Conduct thorough reviews of software requirements, designs, and code to identify defects, discrepancies, and potential risks.
- Collaborate with development teams to prioritize and resolve defects and ensure that software releases meet quality standards and user requirements.
Change Management
- Ensure user testing is completed and signed off before progression from development to production.
- Establish processes for large and small changes, where small changes are accommodated and conducted though pre-approved processes.
- Conduct readiness review through committee participation that includes technicians and end users.
- Develop and implement change management processes and controls to govern the introduction of changes into IT environments while minimizing disruption and risk.
- Review and assess proposed changes, evaluating their impact on IT systems, infrastructure, and operations.
- Coordinate change approval, scheduling, and communication activities to ensure that changes are implemented efficiently and effectively.
Compliance and Auditing
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, standards, and industry best practices related to quality assurance and change management (e.g., ISO 9001, ITIL, GDPR).
Continuous Improvement
- Identify opportunities for process improvements, automation, and efficiency gains within the QA and change management functions.
- Implement corrective and preventive actions to address root causes of quality issues and change-related incidents.
- Foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement within the IT organization.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- Proven experience (3+ years) in quality assurance, change management, or a related field within IT.
- Strong understanding of software development methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall) and quality assurance principles.
- Experience with testing tools and technologies (e.g., Selenium, JMeter) and change management tools (e.g., ServiceNow, JIRA).
- Familiarity with ITIL practices and frameworks, particularly in the areas of change management and release management.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., ISTQB, ITIL) are a plus.
