About the Role
The Engineering Operations Manager is responsible for leading and mentoring our DevOps and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) teams, ensuring operational excellence, and driving best practices in automation, system reliability, and compliance. This role plays a critical part in enabling seamless collaboration between engineering teams and operational processes while supporting compliance initiatives, such as SOC 2, and maintaining a high standard of reliability and scalability across systems.

As a hands-on leader, you’ll work closely with engineering managers, architects, and executives to define and implement operational strategies, tools, and workflows that support our mission of delivering exceptional experiences to our customers.

Responsibilities
  1. Lead and mentor DevOps engineers and Site Reliability Engineer(s), fostering a culture of operational excellence and continuous improvement.
  2. Develop and execute strategies to improve system reliability, scalability, and performance across all platforms.
  3. Oversee the implementation and optimization of CI/CD pipelines, promoting automation and infrastructure as code (IaC).
  4. Collaborate with stakeholders to manage compliance efforts, including SOC 2 / PCI-DSS readiness, audits, and ongoing maintenance.
  5. Define and measure key operational metrics such as uptime, deployment frequency, and response times to ensure success.
  6. Drive the adoption of best practices in monitoring, alerting, and incident response to enhance system health.
  7. Identify and implement tools and technologies that improve developer productivity and operational effectiveness.
  8. Partner with Frontend and Backend Engineering Managers to align operational objectives with broader engineering goals.
  9. Ensure clear documentation and processes are in place to support operational consistency and compliance requirements.
  10. Act as a key point of contact for operational challenges, providing technical leadership and proactive problem-solving.

Qualifications (Requirements not Recommendations)
  1. Proven experience leading DevOps, SRE, and infrastructure engineering teams in a dynamic environment.
  2. Strong knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure), CI/CD processes, and system architecture.
  3. Hands-on expertise with tools like Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, Kafka, and similar DevOps technologies.
  4. Experience with monitoring and observability tools such as Graylog, Prometheus, or Grafana.
  5. Familiarity with compliance frameworks (e.g.PCI-DSS,, SOC 2, ISO 27001) and experience supporting audit processes.
  6. Excellent leadership skills with a demonstrated ability to inspire, mentor, and grow high-performing teams.
  7. Outstanding communication skills, capable of presenting complex topics to technical and non-technical audiences alike.
  8. Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset, with a commitment to continuous learning and improvement.
  9. Proven ability to work collaboratively across teams, ensuring alignment of engineering and operational objectives.
  10. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience; advanced degrees are a plus.
