About your role:
We seek an exceptional Engineering Manager to lead our Search and Core Services Team. In this role, you will champion the team responsible for building and optimizing the search functionalities and core services that enable millions of donors to give to causes they care about. You will be responsible for the engineering architecture, the quality of our services, and delivering exceptional user experiences. Your team:
The Search and Core Services Team comprises a cross-functional group of engineers, product managers and data scientists. They play a pivotal role in fulfilling Givelify's mission of connecting people to the causes that matter most to them. This team is entrusted with building and optimizing the core search functionalities and services that power our platform, including our flagship offering, the Givelify Mobile Giving App. Together, they are dedicated to bringing joy and fulfillment into people's lives through beautiful, frictionless giving experiences. As the Engineering Manager, you will lead this dynamic team, driving innovation and excellence in our core services to enhance the impact of our platform.
The Software Engineer Manager will get to:
- Own the Search and Core Services Team’s strategic technology roadmap and collaborate with Technology Leadership to help drive the overall technology vision for Givelify.
- Lead the Search and Core Services Team’s end-to-end product development lifecycle, from requirements gathering to deployment and maintenance, ensuring timely delivery of projects.
- Own the technical direction and architectural decisions to ensure the scalability, reliability, and maintainability of software systems within the Search and Core Services domain.
- Ensure that the quality of software products in your domain adheres to Givelify’s high bar of engineering quality and design excellence.
To be successful in this role, you’ll also:
- Recruit, onboard, grow, and set up engineering teams for success. Mentor and develop future leaders.
- Champion engineering best practices, standards, and processes, fostering a culture of quality and continuous improvement.
- Stay up to date with emerging technologies and industry trends, evaluating their potential impact and making recommendations for adoption when appropriate.
- Build a culture of engineering excellence focusing on usability, performance, scalability, reliability, and security.
- Foster a collaborative fast paced cross-functional culture.
- Represent Givelify at conferences, talks, presentations.
- Be a hands-on technical leader.
Your experience:
- B.S./ M.S./Ph.D. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics or equivalent STEM degree.
- 7+ years of experience building and architecting APIs and other systems that allow Android, iOS, or IoT systems to operate on scale with high levels of autonomy and reliability.
- Experience implementing advanced Machine Learning, AI and Deep Learning systems on scale.
- Experience planning, executing, and delivering projects with multiple engineers in an agile cross-functional environment.
- Proven track record of building products that allow extreme availability for millions of users.
