The Role
The Senior Systems Administrator provides day-to-day, hands-on support to the organization’s Citrix Virtual Desktop Infrastructure. This position will often coordinate activities with the Tier I level Service Desk support team. This position interfaces directly with internal customers and various departments, troubleshooting user issues to resolution. Other areas of support include LAN support, break/fix, application software installations, patch management, end-user support, and training.

Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities
  • Architect and deploy a Microsoft Windows Server infrastructure
  • Facilitate automation and scalability with tools such as PowerShell to increase system and human efficiency
  • Monitor application availability and performance
  • Work with peers to troubleshoot application, database, and network-related issues
  • Coordinate and communicate with various teams on project status/tasks and escalation
  • Participate in 24x7 escalation support as part of the team, including pager rotation
  • Provide extensive, sometimes 24x7 customer interaction, and timely responsiveness to issues and questions
  • Contribute to the exercise and expression of Christian Care Ministry’s Christian beliefs
  • All other duties as assigned

Essential Skills & Abilities
  • Experience with Citrix VDI
  • Current VMware experience/knowledge, and good understanding of VMware virtualization technologies and their automation
  • Knowledge in architecture, and establishing Microsoft Active Directory
  • Knowledge with configuring and troubleshooting Office 365
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft products (Windows and domain architecture), electronic data interchange (EDI), and network and domain architecture
  • In-depth knowledge of server-based Windows systems
  • Strong knowledge of the protocols and tools for systems preventative maintenance and network protection utilities and add-ons, and ability to implement
  • Ability to develop, configure, implement, and manage the systems that comprise the underlying cloud platform
  • Ability to configure, monitor, and maintain Windows servers within Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Microsoft Azure cloud environment
  • Maintain cloud servers, including security configurations, patching, and troubleshooting

Education and/or Experience
  • High school diploma or GED with 5 years’ experience directly related to IT OR
  • Bachelor’s Degree in IT related field plus 3 years’ experience in an IT environment required
