Remote Global Brand Editor

Summary:
The Global Brand Editor ensures consistency of quality, style, and voice of the Mercy Ships brand while playing an essential role within the Global Brand team to evolve the brand voice at an international level through insights from data, trends, and global developments to create content and concepts for specific messaging to our core audiences through various channels including presentations, social media and blogs, reports, manuscripts, articles, speeches, proposals, etc., for internal and external communications that are usually of a sensitive or complex nature.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Include But Not Limited To)
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
  • Responsible for original content creation, editing, updating, proofreading, and summarizing various
    types of brand related content.
  • Collaborates with Global Brand's Communication manager, Campaign Manager and Media Production
    Manager to develop a variety of content marketing materials
  • Write high-engagement (social) media content that reflects our brand's voice
  • Produce error-free content that adheres to the company's style guidelines
  • Interpret creative direction and adapt points from creative briefs into persuasive copy concepts
  • Simultaneously manage multiple projects with short deadlines
  • Propose copy concepts and present underlying strategic thinking to business leaders
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Requirements)
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • Experience in producing audience focused content for digital, print and broadcast channels
  • Exceptional skill with the nuances of social media writing, including the use of hashtags, emojis and acronyms
  • Solid understanding of SEO concepts preferred
  • Strong editorial background and proofreading skills
  • Experience adhering to editorial and technical style guides
  • Oral and written communication
  • Comfortable with frequent cross-functional and senior management contact
  • Able to exert indirect authority to deliver results
  • Understand and apply servant leadership, work collaboratively with integrity and demonstrate accountability
  • Supportive of Mercy Ships mission and vision, and committed to its core values.

Education and Experience
The requirements listed below are representative of the education and / or experience required.

  • Bachelors / Master Degree in journalism
  • 3-5 years
