Joni and Friends is hiring a
Remote Graphic Designer

📍 Remote

Duties
  1. Graphic Design
    1. Assist in graphic design projects for Joni and Friends materials including print material, email, social media graphics, and other assigned projects
    2. Work within the Joni and Friends branding guidelines to ensure brand consistency
    3. Work with Creative Team members and copy editors to create material layouts and final designs
    4. Conceptualize visuals based on requests, present ideas, and prepare rough drafts and mockups
    5. Review the Joni and Friends photo library and stock images to acquire relevant and engaging photos for all mediums and perform light edits as needed
    6. Basic photo editing, as needed
    7. Test graphics across various media, such as the website and social media
    8. Revise designs after feedback and ensure quality of the final product
    9. Handle standardized requests such as social media thumbnails and business cards

  2. Creative Concepts
    1. Assist the Marketing team in the development of design and creative marketing concepts including campaign brainstorms and branded projects
    2. Help develop and refine an overall aesthetic and unified look across Joni and Friends graphic media
    3. As needed, assist Lead Photographer on styling photo shoots

  3. Graphic Request Administration
    1. Process incoming graphics requests or forward them to the correct team member; utilize our project management system Asana
    2. Review design requests and determine requirements
    3. As assigned, oversee project lifecycle including coordination with external vendors (such as printers), project specifications, cost quotes, proofs, and final delivery
    4. Help maintain and organize the archive of graphic assets in our digital asset management system, Orange Logic (training in Orange Logic will be provided.)

  4. Industry Trends
    1. Stay up to date with current industry-leading software, technologies, design tools and applications
    2. Stay informed on graphic design trends, related to print, web, and social media
  5. Other duties and projects as assigned by the Supervisor to support department and organizational needs

Qualifications
  • Must possess a vibrant personal relationship with Jesus Christ and agree with the Joni and Friends statement of faith
  • Desire to serve in a growing and dynamic Christian service ministry
  • Minimum of three years of graphic design experience
  • Be able to provide a strong design portfolio or work samples
  • A keen eye for aesthetics and details
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work methodically, meet deadlines, and handle multiple projects
  • Must have knowledge of design principles and current digital technologies, along with an understanding of different digital channels, functionality, digital marketing best practices, and user experience requirements
  • Must possess excellent computer skills and strong capabilities in Microsoft Office 365 applications and Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Bridge, and Illustrator) with the aptitude to learn additional software programs
  • Must enjoy working with others in a team environment and be flexible to meet the requirements of the department
  • Proficiency in content management systems (preferred)
  • Degree in Design, Fine Arts, or related field is a plus
  • Understanding of Christian ministry and specifically Joni and Friends is desirable

Compensation is dependent upon the geographic area as this can be a remote position, but will fall into the $52,000 - $60,000 range.
